Key features

  • Converts editable HEX, RGB, and HSL values and copies each color format.
  • Samples pixels from an image uploaded or pasted into an in-browser canvas by pointer or keyboard.
  • Shows selected coordinates and a 7×7 pixel neighborhood for checking color boundaries.
  • Selects a screen color through the EyeDropper API when the browser supports it.
  • Keeps up to 18 recently selected HEX colors in that browser's local storage.
  • Removes individual colors with undo and saves up to 60 favorites with optional names.

How to use

  1. Pick a color or enter a HEX, RGB, or HSL value.
  2. Optionally sample an image pixel or use the supported screen eyedropper.
  3. Press Enter or leave an edited field to save the color. Copy a value or select the star to keep a favorite.

Examples

  • Inspect an exact color at an image edge

Use the magnified 7×7 neighborhood to distinguish an antialiased edge from the solid area whose HEX value you need.

  • Capture a UI color from the screen

In a browser with EyeDropper support, pick a visible screen color and copy it as HEX, RGB, or HSL.

Privacy

Uploaded images are read on an in-browser canvas and are not sent to a server. Recent colors, favorites, and their names are saved in this browser and removed when browser data is cleared.

Requirements

Screen sampling requires a browser with EyeDropper API support and user permission. Image sampling uses the original resolution drawn to the canvas.

Common questions

Does clearing recent colors delete my favorites?
No. Recent colors and favorites are stored separately. You can undo an individual deletion or removal from favorites.
Will my favorite colors remain when I return?
Colors and their names remain after a refresh or another visit in the same browser. They do not sync between devices and are removed if browser storage is cleared.
Can I select image pixels with a keyboard?
Yes. Focus the canvas, move with the arrow keys, and commit the highlighted pixel with Enter or Space.
Is an uploaded image sent to a server?
No. The image is read in an in-browser canvas and is not sent to a server.
