Gamepad Test | Check Buttons, Sticks & Drift

Inspect connected controller buttons, axes, sticks, and mapping in real time, then run a three-second neutral-stick observation for standard mappings.

0 gamepads connectedAll input is processed only in your browser.

No gamepad detected

Connect a controller over USB or Bluetooth, then press any button once. Some browsers expose a gamepad only after receiving input.

Key features

  • Lists multiple connected gamepads and standard or nonstandard mapping.
  • Shows each button's pressed state and analog value from 0 to 1.
  • Visualizes left and right stick position and every raw axis value.
  • Measures maximum neutral-stick displacement for three seconds on standard mappings and flags possible drift or the observation range.
  • Updates continuously as Gamepad API devices connect, disconnect, or change input.

How to use

  1. Connect the controller to the device by USB or Bluetooth.
  2. Press a gamepad button once so the browser can expose it.
  3. Operate every button and stick and inspect the displayed values.

Examples

  • Check a new controller's inputs

Connect by USB or Bluetooth and operate buttons, triggers, and sticks to see the values exposed to the browser.

  • Observe an untouched stick

On a standard-mapped pad, leave the sticks alone during the three-second measurement and compare their maximum displacement.

Privacy

Button and axis input read from the Gamepad API is displayed in your browser and is not sent to a server.

Requirements

A browser with the Gamepad API and a controller recognized by the OS are required. Some browsers hide devices until user input, and labels and axis order can vary by mapping. Neutral measurement is available only for standard mappings; mapping, dead zones, and stick movement can affect the result.

Common questions

Does a possible-drift result prove the controller is faulty?
No. It is a three-second displacement observation that can vary with mapping, dead zones, and stick movement.
Why is my gamepad not visible yet?
Some browsers expose Gamepad API devices only after input, so press a button once after connecting it.
