Key features

  • Cycles red, green, blue, white, black, and gray solid screens.
  • Provides a black-to-white gradient and a grid pattern.
  • Changes solid colors by click, arrow keys, or Space and exits with Escape.
  • Shows screen resolution, calculated physical pixels, DPR, and color depth.

How to use

  1. Choose a solid, gradient, or grid pattern.
  2. Start full-screen mode and inspect the display slowly by eye.
  3. Cycle colors to check dead pixels, image retention, and uneven areas, then exit.

Examples

  • Visually inspect solid colors

Switch among black, white, and primary colors to look for noticeable dots or uneven brightness.

  • Inspect tone and alignment

Use grayscale, gradient, and grid patterns to observe banding and screen alignment.

Privacy

Test patterns and screen details are generated and displayed in your browser; device information is not sent to a server.

Requirements

Full-screen operation depends on a user click and Fullscreen API support; if denied or unsupported, the tool uses an in-page window-covering overlay. It does not automatically diagnose defects.

Common questions

How can I inspect the whole display?
Enter full screen, then switch among solid colors, grayscale, gradients, and grids. The actual test area can still vary with browser UI and display scaling.
Can this confirm a defective pixel?
No. The patterns support visual inspection but do not automatically diagnose panel defects. Dust, color management, and scaling can also affect what you see.
