Only stored cell values are compared. Cached XLSX formula values are read; formatting, formulas themselves, charts, and macros are not compared or executed.

Key features

  • Align two CSV or XLSX sheets by column position or exact raw header names.
  • Find added, removed, changed, and unchanged rows by position or independently selected unique keys.
  • Inspect original row numbers and before-and-after values, then download a CSV or XLSX difference report.
  • Search, filter by status, and page through large results 50 rows at a time.

How to use

  1. Select the baseline and comparison files, then choose one worksheet from each.
  2. Configure headers, column alignment, row alignment, and any advanced comparison options.
  3. Review the result and download a difference report when needed.

Examples

  • Review monthly file changes

Match baseline and comparison sheets by unique keys and inspect added, removed, and changed rows.

  • Validate a migration result

Compare stored cell values across CSV and XLSX files and download a difference report.

Privacy

File reading, comparison, and report generation run only in your browser. Original files and results are never uploaded to or stored on QuickKit servers.

Requirements

Each file is limited to 20 MB and each worksheet to 50,000 rows and 100 columns. A selected sheet is capped at 1,000,000 rectangular cells per side. Only stored cell values are compared; formatting, formulas themselves, charts, and macros are not compared or executed. XLSX formula cells use cached values stored in the file.

Common questions

Can I compare sheets when rows are reordered?
Yes. Select a unique key column for each file to match rows regardless of order. Empty or duplicate normalized keys are rejected with their source row numbers.
Can I compare a CSV file with an XLSX file?
Yes. CSV and XLSX files can be mixed. Numeric 1 matches CSV text 1, while an identifier such as 001 remains different from 1.
How are added or removed columns handled?
Header alignment reports columns found on only one side as structural changes. When structure changes, every row present on both sides is counted as changed even when those cells are empty.
