PDF Compare | Review Text Changes by Page

PDF Compare | Review Text Changes by Page

Compare two PDFs locally without uploading. Align inserted or removed pages, highlight text changes, and inspect side-by-side page previews.

20 MB and 100 pages per file · 2,000,000 characters combined

Compares extracted text, ignoring whitespace and line breaks. Font, image, and layout-only changes are not detected. Matching text does not certify visual or legal equivalence. OCR is not included.

Documents are processed only in your browser. Files are never uploaded or modified.

Key features

Requirements

Up to 20,000,000 bytes and 100 pages per file; 2,000,000 extracted characters combined. Protected or damaged PDFs are unsupported. Whitespace and line breaks are normalized. No OCR or image, font, or layout comparison. Large pages use whole-text replacement highlighting; display is limited to 40,000 characters per page.

Common questions

Does matching text mean the PDFs are identical?
No. Only extracted text is compared, ignoring whitespace and line breaks. Images, fonts, layout, and annotations may differ. This tool does not establish legal equivalence.
Can I compare scanned PDFs?
Pages without selectable text are marked unknown. You can inspect rendered previews, but OCR and automated image comparison are not provided.
How are inserted pages aligned?
Sequences of matching normalized page text serve as anchors. Unmatched pages between anchors are compared in order, with surplus pages marked added or removed. Moved pages or repeated content can make matching ambiguous.
