Crop PDF Pages | Change Margins and the CropBox

Set the visible rectangle on a preview and change the PDF CropBox for one page or every page without rasterizing content.

Key features

  • Sets the kept rectangle with exact left, top, width, and height percentages.
  • Applies the selection to the current page or uses the same proportions on every page.
  • Changes CropBox rather than converting pages to images, preserving vector text and lines.
  • Calculates the viewer-visible area correctly for pages rotated 0°, 90°, 180°, or 270°.

How to use

  1. Choose a PDF no larger than 50,000,000 bytes or 200 pages and select a preview page.
  2. Adjust the kept rectangle while the excluded area is shaded in the preview.
  3. Choose one page or all pages and download the PDF with changed CropBoxes.

Examples

  • Trim scan margins

Reduce broad white borders from every page of a scanned packet using one proportional crop.

  • Show one slide region

Narrow a page's visible box to the chart or illustration needed for a focused handout.

Privacy

Parsing, preview rendering, page-box changes, and output creation all happen in the browser with no server upload.

Requirements

Content outside the crop may be hidden rather than securely erased from the file. Only valid rectangles at least 2% wide and high are accepted, and protected PDFs may not open.

Common questions

Does cropping reduce text quality?
No. The page is not rebuilt as an image; changing CropBox preserves existing vector text and graphics.
Is cropped content completely deleted?
Not necessarily. Content outside CropBox is hidden in ordinary viewers but may remain in the original page content stream.
