Key features

  • Edits start time, end time, and multiline text from SRT and WebVTT files.
  • Shifts selected cues or the complete document forward or backward to the millisecond.
  • Checks invalid timing, order, overlap, and empty text, with a conservative safe repair option.
  • Pages as many as 10,000 cues in groups of 100 and exports deterministic SRT or VTT.

How to use

  1. Choose an SRT or VTT file, or add your first cue to a new document.
  2. Edit cue timing and text, then apply a bulk time shift when synchronization needs adjustment.
  3. Validate the document and download the finished subtitles as SRT or VTT.

Examples

  • Fix subtitle synchronization

Move all cues or only selected lines by an exact offset to match the video.

  • Convert between SRT and WebVTT

Review and repair caption content before exporting the format required by a player or website.

Privacy

Import, editing, validation, and export run in browser memory. Subtitle files and text are not uploaded to a server.

Requirements

Supports UTF-8 SRT and WebVTT files up to 5 MB. WebVTT header metadata and NOTE, STYLE, and REGION blocks are dropped after a warning; ASS and SSA are not supported.

Common questions

Are subtitle files uploaded?
No. File reading, editing, and export happen only in the current browser.
Does the editor automatically change overlapping cues?
It reports overlaps for review but does not guess the intended wording or timing. Safe repair only clamps negative time, ensures a minimum duration, and sorts cues.
Does it preserve every WebVTT feature?
Cue identifiers and cue settings remain in VTT output. Header metadata and NOTE, STYLE, and REGION blocks are named in a warning and removed on import.
