Requirements

A secure context with getUserMedia and MediaRecorder support, an available camera, and user permission is required. Enabling audio also needs microphone access, and actual resolution and format depend on the device and browser.

Common questions

Will recording always use 1280×720?: No. 1280×720 is requested as an ideal value; the device and browser determine the actual captured resolution.
Can I choose between WebM and MP4?: There is no manual format selector. The browser chooses a supported MediaRecorder format, and the extension follows the resulting MIME type.
